Pulse Remembrance March
June 12 at 7:30 pm - 9:30 pmFree
On June 12th, 2016 the lives of 49 souls were cut short in The Pulse Nightclub of Orlando, Florida from a deadly shooting. In memory of those 49 lives, and in an act of defiance to the fear and terror our community felt that night; queer members of the Hampton Roads community and their allies will march the streets to demand visibility and recognition of our pain and suffering, and ask the entire Hampton Roads Community to grieve and create a space for all of us to feel welcomed, heard, and seen.
Security & Accessibility
Marshals and street medics will be present at the event, providing water and leading any individuals who are in need of assistance for the duration of the march. Marshals shall also act as a buffer between Norfolk Police and any marchers or participants that may be uncomfortable or triggered by police presence.
-All routes will take flat roads, and the limited seating at the site will be reserved for those with accessibility needs
-Legal observers will be present
-Mental health counselors will be available to those who need them
Please contact us in advance if you have any questions or concerns of particular accessibility needs.
