Zeiders American Dream Theater (ZADT) in Virginia Beach’s Town Center under the leadership of Artistic Director Bart Kuebler and Executive Director Terry Flint, recently announced their Fall 2016 Performance Series. Zeiders American Dream Theater is an 80 seat theater that brings to the stage local and emerging talent.
Burning Sugar

Burning Sugar is the arrestingly intimate story of a black American Boy. Boy shows us his struggles with mental illness, child abuse, queerness, and reality, through the media of songs, video, lights, and magic. This one-of-a-kind show crosses traditional theatrical borders as the narrative unwinds, blurring the distinction between play, concert, performer, and audience. Join us for this workshop presentation, and prepare yourself for the full experience of the Spring pro-duction of Burning Sugar.
Burning Sugar is a concert experience surrounding my upcoming project entitled HISSING SOUNDS. HISSING SOUNDS are the white noises, hidden messages, and mind games. The things we have to decode. The answers that are harder to discover within ourselves. Burning Sugar is the last song on the project. Evan Hannah says “I was inspired by a lot of artists who’ve inspired me before like Janet, Kanye, and How to Dress Well, but I also inspired by Rustie, Hudson Mohawke, bounce music, and big voices. We wanted to build our own world and this show allows people to step into that world and my story. I’ve been through a lot of heavy experi-ences, and I hope the show and this project allows people to identify with my story and heal with me, but also have an amazing time and leave feeling open, moved, inspired, and empowered. That’s my goal for myself as well.”
