Day of Unity Candlelight Vigil

Domestic violence programs in coastal Virginia are hosting two simultaneous candlelight vigils on Monday, October 4, 2021 at Peninsula Town Center and Virginia Beach Town Center. The vigils are organized by Samaritan House, YWCA of South Hampton Roads, Help and Emergency Response, Inc., The Genieve Shelter, Transitions Family Violence, and Avalon Center, along with support from Military Family Advocacy Programs and multi-city Victim-Witness programs.
The community is invited to come together to memorialize those lost to domestic violence; to support families, friends, and survivors; to raise awareness of shelters and other resources; and to actively work toward safer relationships and communities.
Zeiders American Dream Theater has graciously offered their space in the event of inclement weather. Please note that they require proof of vaccination or a recent negative Covid-19 test result as it is an indoor space. We thank you for complying, should we have inclement weather. Proof of vaccination will not be required if the event remains outdoors.
