Samaritan House Invites The Community To “Paint 757 Purple” Tomorrow

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Samaritan House continues to raise awareness of this important this month as we Paint 757 Purple in conjunction with nearly 40 Hampton Roads businesses that are generously helping educate patrons while raising much-needed funds to assist victims of violence.

“The pandemic generated a spike in the need for our services which has not subsided after the quarantine and restrictions were lifted. For 2021, we are excited to have many returning and new businesses participate in Paint 757 Purple and we encourage everyone to patronize businesses that support our mission,” said Robin Gauthier, Executive Director, Samaritan House.

The Wave Nightclub in Norfolk is also holding a special Paint 757 Purple drag show and fundraising event this Friday night. Called “Purple Rain,” the evening will feature a 50/50 raffle and drag show hosted by Noelia Bella. Doors open at 8 PM, and the show begins at 10 PM.

Paint 757 Purple is presented by PRA Group. Other local participating businesses are supporting us by spreading awareness of domestic violence and helping to raise funds in a variety of creative ways, including offering purple themed products/specials, hosting special events or by simply asking patrons to make donations of any size via a donation box or by texting “SAM” to 50155.

The public is also invited to wear purple and patronize our partners on October 21 for National Wear Purple Day. For a list of participating businesses or to learn how to get involved with the Paint 757 Purple campaign, visit www.paint757purple.org.
