Hampton Roads Pride recently announced its Board of Director nominees for either a one or two-year term. The eight nominees were selected from a total of 12 applicants and will be presented for vote at the next membership meeting on November 7.
Under the leadership of Janet Moore, Pride’s nominating committee put forth the slate two weeks ago. Two one-year seats and six two-year seats are available on the Board.
2016 nominees are Rudy Almanzor, Fawn Falks, Carol Field, Dr. Virginia Jenkot, Carl Johansen, Travis Powell, David Seely, and Cole Werkheiser. Outgoing Board members are Ivy Best, Danny Epperson, Joseph Wolf-Borders, and Andrew Davis. Nominee profiles are available on the Hampton Raods Pride web site.
“In implementing best practices for nonprofits, we’ve tried to find board members and volunteers who bring talents and skills in operational areas, such as fundraising, marketing or legal issues,” said Pride President Michael Berlucchi. “The Nominating Committee identifies those skill sets filled by outgoing Board members and tries to match those skills with applicants for the incoming seats.”
Elections will be held at Pride’s monthly membership meeting on Monday November 7 at 6:30pm at WHRO, 5200 Hampton Boulevard, Norfolk.
