Hampton Roads Business Outreach (HRBOR), the area’s LGBT Chamber of Commerce, is producing the first Pride event at Busch Gardens Williamsburg since 2017.
The all-day event is expected draw people from across the state, said HRBOR Event Committee Chairperson, Christian Strange.
While this is not an official event sponsored by Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Strange says park event planners have been very accommodating.
“We were thrilled when Busch Gardens agreed to work with us with us on this,” said Strange. “They have been fantastic in helping us put together a Pride picnic and working with us on ticketing options.”
The main event of the day will be a Pride picnic featuring a drag show produced by drag legend Jennifer Warner.
The park is open 10 AM – 11 PM. The Pride picnic and performances will be from 3 – 5 PM.
Attendees are encouraged to sport their best pride wear that day.
Tickets are only available by advance purchase, and sales close on September 3.
Non-season pass holders can buy a day pass which includes admission to the Park, parking, and the Pride Day picnic for $85.Season Pass holders can select the Picnic Only option for $25.
The first pride event at Busch Gardens Williamsburg was produced by local organizers in 2011 and was an annual event through 2017.
Additional sponsors of the event are Decorum Furniture, MJs Tavern, OutWire757, Chesapeake Legal Group, and Groovy Lab in a Box.
