Earlier today, President Obama nominated Judge Merrick Garland to fill the Supreme Court vacancy created by the death of Justice Antonin Scalia. While the GOP controlled Senate is vowing to not hold hearings or vote to approve the appointment of Judge Garland to the Supreme Court, his views and past rulings on issues affecting the LGBT community should be examined.
