According to Metro Weekly, the owners of the venerable DC Eagle Nightclub announced to its employees yesterday that the building had been sold and no future plans to reopen are in place. Employees were informed of the decision via a Zoom call.
The Eagle, a longtime nightspot for the DC leather community, was owned by Theodore Clements and Peter Lloyd, who according to Metro Weekly have also dissolved their partnership.
The Eagle is the second Washington LGBTQ bar to close in the past week. Last Friday Ziegfeld’s/Secrets announced it was closing following sale of the building to real estate developers.
