Educating business leaders about how a more open culture can be good for employees and the bottom line was one of the topics discussed at Hampton Roads Business Outreach’s (HRBOR) Diversity and Inclusion workshop held at The Founder’s Inn in Virginia Beach.
The workshop was led by Julie Woodard from Woodard & Associates, LLC, and Aleea Slappy, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer from the City of Norfolk Government. Attendees learned about diversity and inclusion policies, setting and implementing policies and how diversity and inclusion can be a force to change corporate culture, benefitting the business and employees.

Following the workshop, attendees and other members of HRBOR enjoyed an outdoor reception on a terrace of The Founders Inn & Spa. Under new management, The Founders Inn & Spa is now part of the Hilton Tapestry Collection of hotels and welcomes the LGBTQ community.
