The Virginia Beach Human Rights Commission (HRC) will award the Daniel M. Stone Humanitarian Award to Janet and George Moore at its 22nd Annual Human Rights Awards Program on Thursday, March 31, at 7 p.m. at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.
Recipients were selected by commission members based on their efforts to promote cultural diversity, social awareness and human rights in our community. The commission advocates for the human rights of city residents by providing educational programming, public forums and assistance to those whose rights may have been violated.
In addition to the Moores, the other six honorees are:

- Dr. Jobynia Caldwell
- Jerry and Amy Frostick
- Imam Rachid Khould
- Emily Reaves
- Dr. Heidi Kuhlberg and her Health Insurance Marketplace Enrollment Team (Pat Davidson and Ellen Burgess), who will receive the Meyera E. Oberndorf Human Rights for Achievement in Government Award
