Anti-Discrimination Bills Moved to General Laws Committee – Rally Planned Tomorrow in Richmond

Experiencing deja vu? Yesterday in Richmond, Equality Virginia (EV) reported that Senate Bills 1109 and 998 were moved to the to the House of Delegates General Laws Committee. These bills are now in the same place in the legislative process they were two weeks ago and we are now waiting to see if legislators in Richmond will move these bills to floor of the House of Delegates for debate and up or down vote or let the bills that would protect LGBTQ Virginians from housing and publlc employment discrimination die for a fourth time.

Equality Virginia expects that the General Laws Committee to hear the bills tomorrow or Thursday, February 19. To that end, EV is planning another rally in Richmond tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. Details for the rally can be found HERE.

If you are unable to travel to Richmond tomorrow, you can voice your support for these bills by calling Speaker Kirk Cox at (804) 698-1066) or Caucus Leader Tim Hugo at (804) 698-1040. You may also send a message to your Delegate HERE
