Hold onto your hats Drag Race fans, because Hurricane Bianca is returning to the Commonwealth, bringing her It’s Jester Joke tour to the National in Richmond tomorrow evening.
Before rising to fame as the winner of the sixth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, Rio, whose real name is Roy Haylock, originally got her start in New Orleans as a costume designer and local entertainer on the New Orleans nightclub circuit in 1996.
OutWire757 had the privilege of interviewing Rio ahead of her show and asked Hampton Roads drag legend Jennifer Warner to conduct the interview with Rio and the two chat about career paths, Hurricane Katrina, Lady Bunny, Wembly, moving to New York City and sharing a bed with Joan Rivers. Their conversation is unique, insightful and funny – something that you need to listen to and not read.
