Pop star and activist Cyndi Lauper penned an op-ed in The Advocate, in which she addresses the issue of LGBT youth homelessness. According to Lauper, as many as 40% of young people experiencing homelessness identity as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender (LGBT), but only 7% of the general population does the same.
Lauper and her True Colors Fund are sponsoring their second annual #40toNoneDay! on April 27. Last year, we together reached more than 17 million people on #40toNoneDay with our message that everyone has a role to play in the movement to end LGBT youth homelessness.
In the lead up to April 27th, the True Colors Fund is organizing a Thunderclap to spread their message. Thunderclap allows a single message to be mass-shared, flash mob-style, rising above the noise of social networks. Join the #40toNoneDay Thunderclap today to ensure that your voice is heard.
