Get to Know Trina Davenport

Let’s get to know Trina Davenport, a new contributor to OutWire757! 

Ms. Davenport was a contributor to the Lambda Gazette a few years ago and we are pleased to resurrect “Gets Me Going” column and dining articles.  Ms. Davenport has  been writing for over a decade and has an array of multiple talents, including a wealth of media knowledge and loves to express herself through writing as well as a podcast she and her brother host.  Trina’s background includes an IT degree as well as holding a four-year position as Vice President for a Baltimore Non-Profit.  She also has a business called Vino Visuals that creates fine art using wine corks.  We are thrilled to have her join the OutWire757 family of contributors.  Look for her regular contributions in the near future!

Annette Stone. She is a lovely woman and great business person.

Is a picture worth a thousand words? Explain your answer.

Absolutely! To me a picture is a moment in time captured. It’s frozen memory that we can always look back on. I love to take and collect photographs, so I can always re-connect with some of my fondest times.

What is the most memorable LGBTQ moment of your life?

My first drag show. It was the best show I had experienced up to that point. The performance was and always are full of energy and confidence!

On what do you insist upon daily?

Tea….I am a tea fanatic!

If you could give your 16 year-old self one piece of advice, what would it be?

Be alone and get to know yourself 100% before getting into a romantic relationship

More meetup groups and maybe a local dating app

What is the best aspect of the Hampton Roads LGBTQ community?

The support and family-like love

To get to ‘Thank’ Barry (Moore) before he passed 🙁

What LGBTQ stereotype annoys you the most?

I don’t get annoyed by ignorance. People simply don’t know any better.

What non-LGBTQ issue do you feel most passionate about?

Helping my race become more unified

Psychic abilities

Their sense of humor

Understanding

Why Hampton Roads?

Each city has it’s own uniqueness. The people are nice and there is always something fun to do!! And you can’t beat being close to Busch Gardens and VA Beach!
