Hampton Roads Pride logoYesterday, Norfolk’s Harrison Opera House was the setting for the 2018 Hampton Roads Pride launch event hosted for sponsors and allies of the annual pridefest to be held in Town Point Park June 30, 2018.
Attendees were able to socialize with Governor Ralph Northam and First Lady Pam Northam, local elected officials from across the region, Hampton Roads Pride Board Members and representatives from sponsors of the annual event.  This year’s presenting sponsors include Decorum Furniture, Newport News Shipbuilding and WHRO.  The City of Norfolk is also a major sponsor as the city recognizes the importance of the event as the city’s second largest event after Harborfest and in being viewed as a progressive place to live and work.
In addition to the social and fundraising aspects of the evening was the presentation of a resolution passed by the Virginia General Assembly last week recognizing Hampton Roads Pride for the work done to increase diversity, promote inclusion, promote Hampton Roads and for the 30th anniversary of the event.
