More than 300 runners, walkers, skippers, kids and pets turned out last Saturday morning for the Second Annual ‘Run the Rainbow 5k and Fun Run’ at the Virginia Beach oceanfront produced by Hampton Roads Pride.

Runners chose one color of the rainbow and transformed the boardwalk at the Virginia Beach oceanfront into a giant, moving rainbow. This event is a fundraising activity for Hampton Roads Pride as well as a way for the organizers and participants to celebrate the area’s diversity. Sponsors of the race included Sentara Healthcare, Hot 100 radio, Calypso Bar & Grill, Smartmouth Brewing and Mettle Events.
