Virginia Stage Company is saying thanks to the LGBT community for years of support with a NightOUT performance during each production of the current 38th season.
Sponsored in conjunction with Hampton Roads Pride, the first NightOUT takes place tomorrow evening (October 8) and with a performance of I Sing the Rising Sea.
I Sing the Rising Sea tells a sweeping story that flows through generations and across continents—from the shores of Virginia to Japan and Antarctica. Scientists, soldiers, poets, and lovers strive to understand and master the power of the oceans that connect us all.
In collaboration with ODURep, this newest installment of the American Soil Series is an original and timely work for musical theatre that captures the urgency of one of humanity’s most overwhelming challenges—to survive the rising sea.
The show opened on September 16 at ODU’s 173-seat Goode Theater to positive reviews and runs through Sunday, October 9.
20% discounted tickets for the NightOUT performance are available online. Use promo code HRPRIDE. Afterwards, guests are invited to a post-show party at MJ’s Tavern.
