ACCESS AIDS Care and The LGBT Center of Hampton Roads are proud to announce the launch of the second “My Family” photo essay. Following last year’s successful launch, the “My Family” photo essay is part of a comprehensive campaign to provoke and educate the public about the positive family role models that exist throughout Hampton Roads.
Families have always meant different things to different people: birth families, partners, children, chosen families, etc. “My Family” aims to celebrate and showcase the diversity and strength among LGBT families throughout Hampton Roads.
Through August 15, interested LGBT families are encouraged to visit the My Family website and answer a few questions about how they define family and tell their family story. Families chosen will be professionally photographed and featured in several public gallery showings throughout Hampton Roads during autumn 2016 and as part of a comprehensive media campaign. All participants will receive digital copies of their photos and will be invited to all gallery showings.
If you are interested in featuring your family, please visit My Family or if you are a photographer that may be interested in participating, contact Andrew Roberts at (757) 640-0929, ext. 234
