The LGBT Life Center announced in a statement that it will be able to continue to operate normally, offering its variety of services and programs to the community via the Payroll Protection Program recently passed by Congress. The Life Center worked closely after with Towne Bank on its application process.
Many area non-profits, arts organizations and small businesses in the area are suffering financially as spring is a major fundraising season and the COVID-19 crisis has adversely affected operating revenues. One major event that was recently canceled is the Life Center’s annual Dining Out For Life fundraiser. The Payroll Protection Program will enable the Life Center to offer services without interruption.
“Towne Bank was fully invested in helping to ensure services continue without interruption, so 160 rents will continue to get paid every month, 70 employees will continue to get paid, 5,000 lbs of food will be distributed and hundreds of people will still receive their service appointments through telehealth and other virtual services,” said Stacie Walls, CEO of the LGBT Life Center.
