Iconic Grammy and Oscar-winning singer/songwriter and activist, Melissa Ethridge will bring The Medicine Show Tour to the Sandler Center in Virginia Beach on Friday, May 3, 2019, at 8 PM.
Since her debut album, Melissa Ethridge has had an incredible career. Her first album, Melissa Ethridge, became certified double platinum and since then she has had many other accomplishments. She has released 13 studio albums, five of which went platinum and three went multi-platinum; 43 singles; produced 48 music videos; won two GRAMMYs, one for Best Female Rock Vocal and the other for Best Rock Vocal Performance for “Ain’t It Heavy”; won an Oscar for Best Original Song; and spent more than two and a half years on the album chart. Etheridge hit her commercial and artistic stride with her fourth album, Yes I Am, featuring the massive hits “I’m the Only One” and “Come to My Window,” a searing song of longing that brought her the second GRAMMY. Her last release, Memphis Rock & Soul, debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Blues Chart.
Reunited with celebrated producer John Shanks, who has also worked with Keith Urban, Bon Jovi, and Kelly Clarkson, Melissa sounds as rousing as ever, bringing a new level of artistry to her 15th studio recording. Known for her passionate and dynamic live performances, she will embark on a U.S. tour in support of the new album, kicking off March 29 in Florida. The Medicine Show deals with universal themes of renewal, reconciliation, reckoning, compassion and, most profoundly, healing. The Medicine Show is scheduled to releaseon April 12.
