OBX Pride and Virginia Pride Close Out Summer 2017

Did you miss out on Hampton Roads Pride earlier this summer or want give Summer 2017 a rainbow tinted send off?  If so, there are two Pride celebrations within easy driving distance this weekend – Outer Banks Pride and Virginia Pride in Richmond.

Outer Banks Pride

For the seventh year, OBX Pride Inc. welcomes the LGBTQ community to Outer Banks Pridefest this fall.  The weekend Pride event begins Friday afternoon September 22 and runs through Sunday September 24. The centerpiece weekend’s events is the Outer Banks Pride Festival on Saturday afternoon. This year, the main festival moves to George Washington Creef Park on the downtown Manteo waterfront.  The main festival is free and open to the public.

This year’s headliners are world-renowned drag comedienne Lady Bunny and legendary trans performer Jennifer Warner. Lady Bunny will perform in her one-woman cabaret on Saturday night. Jennifer Warner is the festival’s hostess and will emcee the new Miss Outer Banks Pride Talent Show and Sunday’s Drag Brunch.

Other events include a sold-out Sunset Cruise sponsored by MJs Tavern in Norfolk, a concert by Hampton Roads performer Cliff Warner, the popular Pride and Joy Drag Show, and plenty of time for sun and fun at the beach.

“We’re thrilled that for the seventh year, the Outer Banks continues to embrace the LGBTQ community,” said David Miller, Outer Banks Pridefest organizer. “And with our move to the Manteo waterfront and the addition of the Miss Outer Banks Talent Show, we have some new surprises for everyone.“

Tickets for all events are available at www.OBXPridefest.com. Choose from an all-inclusive Pride Pass or purchase a la carte event tickets. Through August 15, all-access Pride Passes are available at the Early Bird discount rate of $100—-a $20 savings.

A complete event listing and lodging options are also online.

The Seventh Annual Outer Banks Pridefest is funded by a grant from the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau with major support from MJs Tavern and the Outer Banks Community Foundation.
