Earlier today, Pam Northam, wife of Virginia Lt. Governor and 2017 gubernatorial candidate Ralph Northam paid a visit to the LGBT Life Center in Norfolk to meet with staff, learn about the services provided by the Life Center and discuss issues of importance to the LGBTQ community.

Among the many topics discussed were the future of the Affordable Care Act (a.k.a. Obamacare), expansion of Medicaid, housing discrimination – especially as it pertains to the transgender community, LGBTQ employment protections, how the lack of LGBT trained doctors and medical professionals is hampering the expansion of clinical services, a request for certification for LGBTQ inclusion or competency training for health organizations and/or professionals and discussing funding for syringes to prevent the spread HIV and other diseases via IV drug use.
