On December 2, from 1-3 p.m., the Citizens Unity Commission, Hampton Roads Pride and Hampton Convention & Visitors Bureau are co-hosting a community event for the LGBTQ community at the Hampton History Museum.
Representatives from the Hampton and Newport News police departments will be on hand to show how local law enforcement supports the LGBTQ community and attendees can learn about available community resources. This would also be a good opportunity for transgender and persons of color on the Peninsula to open/continue a dialogue with representatives of the Hampton and Newport News police.
If you are interested in attending this event, please RSVP by calling 757-727-8311 (or 311 from a Hampton land line). You can download this event into your smartphone at this link.
