Cirque du Soleil’s CRYSTAL, Nov. 29 – Dec. 2
Cirque du Soleil is coming to the Scope Arena with a brand-new arena creation. Cirque du Soleil’s CRYSTAL, explores the artistic limits of ice for the first time in the company’s 34-year history. This unique production pushes boundaries of performance by combining stunning skating and acrobatic feats that defy the imagination. CRYSTAL will perform in Norfolk from Thursday, November 29 through Sunday, December 2 for 6 shows only.
In CRYSTAL, gymnasts and skaters perform acrobatics on the ice and in the air, seamlessly combining multiple disciplines for a world class audience experience. Synchronized skating, freestyles figures, and extreme skating are featured alongside circus disciplines such as swinging trapeze, aerial straps and hand to hand.
Hurrah for the Holidays!, December 7, 7 p.m.
Guaranteed to get you in the holiday spirit is the annual production of HURRAH FOR THE HOLIDAYS; a joyful celebration featuring all the best music of the season – from your favorite classic standards to popular modern day hits. reVoiced at Zeiders American Dream Theater, December 22, 4 & 8 p.m.
Since 2012, reVoiced has gained a reputation for captivating audiences, creating their own sound by “revoicing” familiar classics. These five charismatic entertainers bring their distinct personalities together to create an unforgettable vocal experience. Its members have received countless vocal accolades, performing on Broadway and television shows like American Idol and The Sing-Off.

Based on the memoir of award-winning comedic author David Sedaris, this hilarious one-man-show takes us back to ye olden days when he was one of Santa’s Elves at Macy’s Department Store. In this one-act play the struggling writer, who chooses the elf name “Crumpet,” weaves an unbelievable tale of drunken Santas, lascivious actors, and combative parents. Come laugh, drink and be merry with your friends at the Wells Theatre. This late night holiday treat for adults is sure to make your spirits bright!
This year, “Crumpet” will be played by Tom Detrinis, a Los Angeles based who is thrilled to be making his Virginia Stage Company debut in The SantaLand Diaries, a role he is excited to revisit after performing it in Buffalo and Long Island, NY.

Handel’s Messiah on December 11, 7 and 8:30 p.m. at the Monticello Arcade
No holiday season is complete without a performance of George Frideric Handel’s 18th century masterpiece, Messiah. What makes this performance unique is that it’s presented by vocal and instrument students from the Governor’s School for Arts in the acoustically astounding Monticello Arcade in downtown Norfolk. Two performances: 7 PM and 8:30 PM, free to the public.
The Manhattan Transfer Holiday Show, December 1 and 2, at the American Theater
