On March 21, prospective LGBTQ job seekers, interns, and volunteers will convene at OutWork757, Virginia’s only LGBTQ Career Expo at Old Dominion University (ODU) in Norfolk.
The Expo is from 11 AM until 3 PM in the Big Blue Room at ODU’s Chartway Arena. More than 40 recruiters are expected from corporations, non-profit organizations and government agencies. The Expo is free and open to the public.
Old Dominion University career counselors will be on-site to provide complimentary guidance and resume checks. Free and confidential HIV and STD testing will also be available.
A week prior to the expo, participating exhibitors are invited to participate in a Diversity and Inclusion Seminar produced by Hampton Roads Business Outreach (HRBOR), the region’s LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce. The seminar offers training and tools needed to develop inclusive human resources policies and procedures.
“We’re proud to partner once again with HRBOR and Old Dominion University to demonstrate that Virginia’s workspaces are diverse, safe, and supportive of the LGBTQ community,” said Eric Hause, Expo producer and publisher of OutWire757.
At the 2019 Expo, recruiters were present from 42 corporations, agencies and municipalities, including the cities of Norfolk and Virginia Beach, Cox Communications, and Dominion Energy, among others.
The Expo is presented by Hampton Roads Business Outreach (HRBOR), Old Dominion University’s Career Development Services, Old Dominion University’s Safe Space Committee, and OutWire757.com.
Exhibitor space is still available and the deadline to register your organization of business is March 1. Additional information and advance attendee registration are available online at the link below.
