Second Annual TIES Pop Up Event Taking Place Saturday at ODU

This Saturday, Equality Virginia will convene the second annual TIES (Transgender Information and Empowerment Summit) Pop-Up event on the campus of Old Dominion University.

This event, which runs from 12-5 p.m., is a smaller version of Equality Virginia’s annual TIES event held each year in Richmond. Attendees have the opportunity to participate in the following program sessions:

  • Employment Readiness for Transgender and Gender Diverse Professionals
  • Know the Facts: Building Safer Schools for Trans Youth
  • Navigating Healthcare While Transgender
  • Be an Advocate: Tell Your Story

In addition to the formal program, a resource center will be available that will include HIV testing, name and gender marker clinic appointments, and mental health and medical consultations. Please note that these services are offered for free and appointments are made on a first come, first served basis. Transgender and gender diverse individuals, partners, parents, youth, and allies are welcome to attend.  This event is free, but registration is required. Please click HERE to reserve your spot.
