Recent moves by the Trump Administration, especially last week’s leaked memo that would change the government’s definition of gender, effectively erasing transgender and non-binary persons has many in the community, including their friends, family and allies scared and concerned.
In order to address the potential implications of this policy change, educate members of the community and lend support to the transgender/non-binary communities in Hampton Roads, the Transgender Assistance Project of Virginia (TAP VA), the LGBT Life Center, New Life Metropolitan Community Church and OutWire757 have organized a community conversation scheduled to take place Thursday, November 1 at 6:30 p.m. at the New Life Metropolitan Community Church located at 1000 Sunset Drive, Norfolk, VA, 23503.
A panel of activists and community leaders will be present to educate and offer support to transgender and non-binary persons and their allies. This event is free and open to the public.
