St. Louis resident Kiwi Herring was shot and killed by police in an apparent domestic dispute Tuesday morning. According to a story in the Huffington Post, Herring was a married transgender woman, raising three young boys who had complained of threats and harassment.
Herring’s relatives feel that bullying by a homophobic neighbor and unnecessary force by law enforcement contributed to her death.
“Kiwi was harassed and executed and it’s a horrible feeling,” said Herring’s sister-in-law, Crevonda Nance.
