It wouldn’t be the holidays in Hampton Roads without Dickens’ A Christmas Carol at Virginia Stage Company. This heartwarming tradition for the whole family follows the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future as they visit Ebenezer Scrooge and remind us all of hope, redemption and love.
This Saturday, December 17, Virginia Stage welcomes Coastal Virginia’s queer family back for the first NightOUT in the newly renovated Wells Theater for a special performance of the Dickens classic.
“We’re excited to have the LGBTQ community join us for our our first NightOUT back home at the Wells,” said Brad Tuggle, marketing director. “And what better way to say welcome home than with A Christmas Carol.”
In addition to the show, theatergoers will experience some special touches in the theater’s side lobby and bar. Guests will be treated to a piano lounge performance by the talented AJ Palacio. In addition, a raffle for tickets to Virginia Stage Company and Virginia Symphony Orchestra and a silent auction for locally grown artwork will take place.
The Virginia Stage Company produces a NightOUT event just for the LGBTQ community for one performance during each of it’s 38th season productions. A Christmas Carol runs through December 24 at the Wells Theater. Tickets are available at VaStage.org.
