Equality North Carolina posted a photo on its Twitter feed last night showing how Wells Fargo lit up its Duke Energy skyscraper in Charlotte to highlight the International Transgender Day of Visibility. Wells Fargo, is a longstanding supporter of the LGBT community and is important to do so at a time when basic rights are under attack in North Carolina and throughout the nation.
The timing of the display is also significant in that Chad Griffin of the Human Rights Council met with NC Gov. Pat McCrory on Thursday demanding repeal of HB 2, the discriminatory law. More than 90 business leaders from throughout the country have called for a repeal of HB 2.
