Chesapeake author Gail Newman’s novel, “Sunlight in the Shadows” has been nominated for two “Goldie” awards by the Golden Crown Literary Society(GCLS) in the ‘Contemporary Romance’ (short novel) and ‘Debut Novel’ categories.
The GCLS is a national non-profit organization whose mission is education, promotion and recognition of lesbian literature. To that end, the GCLS provides educational, support and networking opportunities for lesbian writers. The Goldie awards are one activity undertaken by the GCLS to further their mission.
The Goldies are presented each year at the Annual GCLS Conference to recognize excellence in Lesbian Literature, recognizing excellence in 16 ‘genre’ categories and 5 special categories. This year’s awards will be announced at GCLS conference scheduled to take place July 4-8 at Bally’s Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV. The annual conference brings together readers, fans, writers, editors and publishers to celebrate the best in lesbian literature.
