On September 15, LGBTQ job seekers, consumers, businesses, and organizations will convene at OutWork757, Hampton Roads’ first LGBTQ Business and Career Expo at Old Dominion University’s Ted Constant Center.
“This event is long overdue for Hampton Roads. Most metropolitan areas with large LGBTQ populations have been offering similar expos for years. This is our community’s opportunity to demonstrate that our business community welcomes LGBTQ employees and consumers,” said Eric Hause, Publisher of OutWire757 and Expo producer.
OutWork757 will be part career fair and part consumer show, the Expo is open to all members of the LGBTQ and allied community who desire to work for or do business with LGBTQ-friendly companies and organizations located from Richmond to Northeastern North Carolina.
The Expo opens at 11 AM and concludes at 3 PM and is free to the public. Over 40 exhibitors ranging from large corporations to social and support groups to government agencies are expected to exhibit at the show.
In addition, to exhibitors, the Expo will also offer three panel discussions on relevant topics of interest to LGBTQ businesses, jobseekers and consumers.
The event is co-sponsored by Hampton Roads Business Outreach (HRBOR), Old Dominion University’s Career Development Services, Old Dominion University’s Safe Space Committee and Outwire757.
