Hampton Roads Pride is producing the first “Run the Rainbow 5K and Fun Run” on October 6 at the Virginia Beach oceanfront in an effort to promote inclusivity and community throughout Hampton Roads beyond the annual PrideFest events concentrated in Norfolk.
To promote the race and encourage participation, Hampton Roads Pride is hosting a launch party at the Smartmouth Pilot House in Virginia Beach on Saturday, August 25th from 12-3 p.m. Attendees will be able to learn more about the race, meet other racers and register at a discounted rate. A discount code will be available at the launch party.
All are welcome to run, walk or saunter at this family (and dog) friendly event that will take place at the 24th Street Stage on the Virginia Beach boardwalk. Mettle Events will be managing the race and finish line services. An after race party is being planned at the Calypso Bar and Grill.
Currently, the fee to register is $25 which will go up to $35 after September 1. Hampton Roads Pride will be donating a portion of the proceeds from the race to an as yet named charitable organization. Click HERE to register for the race.
