Recent progress in the LGBT community has ignited a firestorm of backlash, most recently in North Carolina with the now infamous HB 2 legislation. Over 120 corporations and individuals are pressing North Carolina officials to rescind the legislation. Last night, GLAAD hosted the 27th Annual Media Awards in Beverly Hills to pay honor to the individuals and organizations that accurately portray the LGBT community in the media. Those honored at the event vowed to continue the fight against anti-LGBT legislation and bias.
Full coverage of the event can be found at The Los Angeles Times and if you want to watch the event, tune into Logo tonight at 10 p.m. EST.
