Hampton Road’s own Knight Hawks of Virginia are presenting the first Mr. Virginia Leather Contest the weekend of September 26-29 in Norfolk, the highlight of which will be the contest held on September 28 at 37th & Zen.
The contest is the final step in a statewide search for a person from the Leather, Levi, BD/SM and Fetish lifestyle that, according to the Knight Hawk’s website, can “foster a better understanding and appreciation of the lifestyles both among the members of the organization and within the community through social, charitable, and educational endeavors and activities.”
Contestants will be judged and scored with a 1-10 point value in the following categories:
- Judges Interview
- Bar Wear of Choice
- Fantasy Presentation
- Contestants are allowed up to 5 people to assist performance
- Formal Wear
- 90 second speech- Topic is Contestant’s choice
- Public Q&A
The winner is expected to participate in local and regional Pride and community events, attend and or enter national events such as SECC- Southeast Conference of Clubs, MAL- Mid-Atlantic Leather, and IML- International Man of Leather and plan and execute fundraising events for the charity of their choice.

Assisting the judges and helping the event run smoothly are two other notable persons from the regional fetish community. Michael, AKA Pup Skinzy, Mr. Triangle Leather 2019 and Pup Papi will serve as Judge Wranglers and Alyssa Durnien, the first and current Ms. D.C. Eagle and Ms. Woods Leather 2017 will serve as stage manager.
All events planned for the weekend are taking place in Norfolk at the Best Western Plus Holiday Sands Inn & Suites in Oceanview (host hotel), 37th & Zen and at MJ’s Tavern.
