Early next year, the LGBT Life Center will open an LGBTQ and HIV specialty care clinic and on-site pharmacy at 1001 Monticello Ave. in Norfolk.
The opening of a full service clinic and pharmacy has been part of the LGBT Life Center’s growth strategy for several years and with a partnership with CAN Community Health, the new clinic will become a reality in 2019. The LGBT Life Center will continue all of our traditional services, such as housing, nutritional support, mental health counseling, and case management, while expanding to clinical services, including hormone therapy, HIV specialty care, PrEP services and primary care. The partnership will include an on-site pharmacy, making the clinic a convenient one-stop-shop for the entire LGBT community.
“I could not be more pleased and prouder to announce that we will open the area’s first LGBTQ and HIV specialty clinic, powered by CAN Community Health; giving our communities the care and dignity they deserve in their health and wellness,” said Stacie Walls-Beegle in an email announcement.
CAN Community Health operates 29 medical clinics in Florida and South Carolina and has been serving the needs of the HIV community since 1991. CAN is a private, not-for-profit organization dedicated to the treatment, care and continual wellness of people living with HIV, hepatitis C, STDs and other chronic health conditions. Services will be provided regardless of one’s financial situation, insurance status, or ability to pay.
