Equality Virginia Plans 2019 Legislative Session ‘Kick Off’

On the morning of January 9, Equality Virginia is planning a public demonstration in Richmond at Capitol Square to mark the beginning of the 2019 General Assembly session.

The schedule as per Equality Virginia is as follows:

9:00 a.m. – Registration opens at The Commonwealth. Join others for coffee, check in, make your sign, and then head across the street to the Bell Tower on Capitol Square. 

10:00 a.m.  – Kick Off demonstration at the Bell Tower. 

10:30 a.m. – Attendees will then head across the street to the General Assembly Building. Groups will drop off their post cards to the Speaker and individuals will stop by their delegate’s office to make sure that LGBTQ Virginians and our supporters voices are heard.   You may register HERE.

Hampton Roads Pride is organizing a bus to take interested persons to the event in Richmond.  The bus is scheduled to leave the parking lot of WHRO at 7 a.m. and will return following lunch in Richmond.  Seating is limited to 50 persons and is first come, first served.  To reserve a seat on the HR Pride bus, click HERE.
