On Friday, May 4 teens on the Peninsula will have the opportunity to attend “Living Life and Losing Labels”, a workshop to acknowledge and discuss gender identity and orientation questions, dispel myths and address misunderstandings to improve social skills and encourage inclusive support that will reduce, fear, bullying and high-risk behaviors.
This workshop is the latest in a series of community conversations promoting LGBTQ awareness presented by the City of Hampton’s Citizens’ Unity Commission in partnership with Hampton Police, Hampton Roads Pride, Hampton Convention & Visitor Bureau and the Newport News Police Department.
The workshop is open to all middle and high school students and their parents and takes place from 4 – 6:15 p.m. at the Northampton Community Center located at 1435-A Todds Lane, Hampton, VA 23666. To register, please call 757/727-8311.
