Stonewall Sports Norfolk‘s First Annual Star Search talent show and fundraiser that took place on February 18 at Norfolk’s O’Connor Brewing Company.
Hosted by drag queen Sandra Lopez, six local acts took the stage at the brewery to dance, sing, lip sync and play instruments in between raffle drawings and impromptu auctions, raising more than $2,100 for the Stonewall Sports Norfolk’s designated charities – Transgender Assistance Program (TAP) and For Kids.
Judging the contest were representatives from TAP and For Kids. The third place winners were Dylan and Kelly for their interpretive dance, second place were “The Midnights” and taking first place was Stephen Allen.
Stonewall Sports Norfolk (SSN) was launched last summer with a kickball league and has already surpassed their participation and fundraising goals. Currently, SSN is producing a winter dodgeball league and will open registration for the Spring 2019 Kickball League on March 2. To get involved or learn more about SSN HERE.
