South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg, the first openly gay, top-tier Presidential candidate paid a fundraising visit to Norfolk on Sunday afternoon.

The home of Norfolk City Councilwoman Andria McClellan was the setting for Sunday’s event. Approximately 100 supporters attended the invitation-only event and had the opportunity to hear Buttigieg’s stump speech, but engage with the candidate during a question and answer period and during brief encounters after the event.
Democratic leaders and candidates on this November’s ballot attended the event. Following the fundraising event, Buttigieg joined a canvass launch for Democratic House of Delegates candidate Phil Hernandez and Virginia State Senator Lynwood Lewis.
