Oktoberfest in September? Ja! Ja! Ja!

September 16 marks the official opening of Oktoberfest 2017 in Munich, Germany, and with the growth of craft breweries in Hampton Roads it is natural for the region to be host to several celebrations paying homage to the world’s largest Volksfest.

The largest and most exciting is the Second Annual Wasserhund Oktoberfest on September 16 at Hunt Club Farms in Virginia Beach. Break out your dirndl or lederhosen and come out on Saturday, September 16 from 12-6 PM.

Produced by Wasserhund Brewery and Kitchen Ink Food at Hunt Club Farms in Virginia Beach, the event is a quintessential Oktoberfest featuring over 22 breweries, traditional German food, a fair and festival games. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy multiple styles of beers including, of course, a wide variety of German beers.

Amenities include artisan vendors, live music, German dance performances, and food demonstrations. The ceremonial tapping of the first cask will be performed by Virginia Beach Mayor Sessoms.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Foodbank of Southeast Virginia. Donations will be accepted on site as well.

OutWire757 will be there, so stop by and say ‘guten tag’!
