About 60 people participated in the 2017 Annual AIDS Walk this morning in downtown Norfolk under sunny skies. The event is co-sponsored by the Urban League of Hampton Roads, the LGBT Life Center, Teens with a Purpose, and the EVMS HIV/AIDS Resource Center.
The walk began at the EVMS HIV/AIDS Resource Center’s office at Mowbray Arch, proceeded down Olney Road to Virginia Beach Boulevard, and concluded at the Teens with Purpose Community Park on Church Street. Afterwards, participants were invited to the Vivian C. Mason Cultural Arts Center for discussion and speeches.
This year marks the 12th anniversary of the Hampton Roads AIDS Walk.
