The house was nearly packed at last night’s screening of “Freedom to Marry” at the NARO in Norfolk
The documentary chronicling the fight for marriage equality over three decades was followed by a panel discussion featuring Attorney General Mark Herring; spouses Tim Bostic and Tony London, plaintiffs in Virginia’s 2014’s marriage equality case; Laurel Quarberg and wife Sarah Monford, local business owners and activists; and Michael Hamar, local attorney and husband Barry Menser.
With the help of local activist Cindy Cutler, the event was presented as one of the NARO’s New Progressive Cinema offerings, an ongoing Wednesday night documentary series.
