2016WUSA was established in 1982 for the people of the Hampton Roads and Richmond areas to play softball in a safe, friendly environment. The league was established to provide a place to go for people with alternative lifestyles. Since its inception, the league has strived to provide a fun, safe and friendly atmosphere for both men and women whether gay, transgendered or bisexual!  It became a place for everyone to come together as a community on a Sunday and cook out, enjoy each other and play softball!

Currently WUSA is comprised of eight teams, they are: ATF, CREW, JOKERS, LAGERHEADS, PUSH PLAY, RENEGADES, SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION & WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT.

The Hershee Bar, located in Norfolk VA, is WUSA’s patron saint as they have supported the league since its inception and provide a place to go after the games, provide an opportunity for socializing, fundraisers, sponsorship funds and so much more.

Each year, MAASA teams participate in the World Series sponsored by our national organization, the North American Gay Amateur Athletics Alliance (NAGAAA). They are also a member of the Amateur Softball Association (ASA).
