It was standing room only at the New Life Metropolitan Community Church in Norfolk last Saturday as approximately 150 persons turned out to celebrate the Hampton Roads Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV).
Attendees were treated to art exhibits, music, poetry, spoken word performances, arts workshops, original compositions by trans writers, informational displays from area organizations supportive of the trans community and a Q & A educational roundtable. The program was emceed by De Sube, hosted by New Life MCC and the Transgender Assistance Project Virginia (TAP). Supporting organizations include the Unitarian Church of Norfolk, PFLAG of Hampton Roads, The LGBT Life Center and the Seven Cities Medic Collective. Refreshments were provided by Ajar catering.
