Equality Virginia and the Virginia Values Coalition will join transgender Virginians as they meet with lawmakers Tuesday to push for passage of statewide comprehensive nondiscrimination protections for LGBTQ Virginians.
Attendees will meet with legislators and advocate for the Virginia Values Act, SB 868, a bill that would modernize Virginia’s existing human rights laws and provide nondiscrimination protections for LGBTQ people in public employment and housing. The bill would also create new nondiscrimination protections in private employment and public accommodations for all Virginians.
The event is part of Equality Virginia and the Virginia Values Coalition’s “Crowd the Capitol” series which will include LGBTQ individuals and allies highlighting the importance of passing the Virginia Values Act. Crowd the Capital events will take place every Tuesday through Feb. 25, except for Jan. 28.
