Norfolk news anchor Blaine Stewart of WKTR added his well-known brand of humor at a time when Hampton Roads needed a smile. Yesterday, while many of us were hunkering down for the first snowstorm of the season, Stewart tweeted a warning on Wednesday that the region was about to receive a “pounding” of more than eight inches of snow, adding “that’s too much, even for me.”
Stewart’s post went viral yesterday, garnering more than 15,000 likes and 8,000 retweets and mentions by LGBTQ Nation and Logo TV. However as of this morning, his tweet is missing from his feed. The link to the original feed is here and appears to have been removed. We have reached out to Stewart for confirmation. Stay tuned.
Yesterday’s tweet was not his first foray using sexual innuendo to describe a weather forecast. Last winter, when a forecast called for up to ten inches of snow, he tweeted that these are actual measurements and “not Grndr inches.”
Thank you for sharing your wit and wisdom with the community! Please keep the funny tweets coming, if today’s storm is any indication, it’s going to be a long winter and we need your sense of humor to get us through until beach season opens.
