June is Pride month and there are over 100 events, meetings and happenings to show your Pride throughout Hampton Roads. Below is our curated 2019 Pride month calendar of events. Each event has a link to follow for more information and the event can be downloaded into your smart phone’s calendar, so you won’t miss any of the fun! The complete calendar may be viewed HERE.

Second Annual Stiletto Stomp Presented by OutWire757, 5-7 p.m., NEON District, Norfolk

OutWire757, the Downtown Norfolk Council, and Stonewall Sports invite you to kick off Pride month with the Second Annual Stiletto Stomp at Norfolk’s First Friday on June 7. Drag out your best drag or costume and wear your fiercest high heels for a pre-event parade and followed by a two-block race through the heart of Norfolk’s NEON District.

Cards for the LGBTQ+ Community, MJ’s Tavern, 2-4 p.m.

Come out to MJ’s Tavern as we gather to write cards of love + embrace for the LGBTQ+ community! Whether you’ve worked with us before or not, we would love for you to join us and be a part of the Compassion Cards family!

Pre-game with drinks, friends, food, music and a little shopping. Then, we’ll hop on The Tide for a Pride Ride over to Harbor Park for Pride Night at Harbor Park!

Pulse Nightclub Remembrance Event, Walter E Hoffman Courthouse, Norfolk, 6:30 p.m.

Join the community on the lawn out front of the Walter E Hoffman Courthouse to share in conversations and a lighting of candles in memory of the lives lost at the Pulse Nightclub massacre in 2016. 

Gender Expression Movement Eastern Shore Group, Garden and Sea Inn, New Church, VA, 7 p.m.

Join the Gender Expression Movement Eastern Shore for our social support group meetings where all transgender, non-binary and non-conforming people have their own voice.

LGBT Policy Town Hall, Slover Library, Norfolk, 6:30 p.m.

Policy affects LGBT people in our daily lives – in healthcare, access to housing and employment, education, and many other areas. Come out to talk about what policies you’re passionate about changing and learn how to get plugged in to existing advocacy opportunities. Presented by Equality Virginia.

Love Sex and Marriage: The Stage Play, Barry Robinson Theater, Virginia Beach, 6 p.m.

Love Sex and Marriage (LSM) is the groundbreaking coming out story of the main character Darrin.  Darrin is a mega celebrity who has several people that depend on him for survival.  When Darrin’s manager discovered he was a closeted gay man, he devised a plan so that the media wouldn’t discover he was gay. 

Blue Commonwealth Gala Featuring Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Main Street Station, Richmond, 7 p.m.

Hosted by the Democratic Party of Virginia in Richmond’s Historic Main Street Station, the 2019 Blue Commonwealth Gala is Virginia’s premier gathering of elected officials, candidates, community activists, and Democratic Party leaders.

June 16

LGBT Film Festival, Slover Library, Norfolk, 2 p.m.

Celebrate #PRIDE month at our annual film festival! Snacks will be provided. Moonlight and Brokeback Mountain will be shown.

JUNE 17 

Ghent Pride: Party at the Palace Shops, The Palace Station & Shops, Norfolk 6 p.m.

Pride Week Cruise Aboard the American Rover, Waterside District, 6 p.m.

Presented by HRBOR and OutWire757. Come and get your float on during pride week with live music, food, beer tasting, and cash bar. Admission is free for HRBOR members and $10 for general public at www.hrbor.org

7th Annual Hampton Roads lgbtqai Interfaith Celebration, Coastal Virginia Unitarian Universalists (CVUU), Virginia Beach, 7 p.m.

Join with faith groups from all across Hampton Roads for the 7th annual Interfaith Celebration during Pride Week 2019.  This year as we approach the 50 year anniversary of Stonewall, the theme for our gathering will be “WHERE WE HAVE BEEN… WHERE WE ARE GOING” 

JUNE 19 

Pride Party on the Peninsula, Carousel Park, Hampton, 6 p.m.

Party with Pride at the fifth annual Pride Party on the Peninsula. The fun begins at Carousel Park in Downtown Hampton. Attendees will enjoy complimentary food and beverage, as well as free rides on the historic Hampton Carousel. At 7:30, hop aboard the Miss Hampton II for the annual Drag Down the River Boat Cruise.

 Third annual Drag Down the River Boat Cruise on the Miss Hampton II with Jennifer Warner and friends from 8:00pm-10:00pm. Highlights will include drag queens, music, dancing, and more. Cost is $10 per person with all proceeds benefiting the LGBT Life Center

Pride at the Chrysler, Chrysler Museum, Norfolk, 6-9 p.m.

Join The Chrysler Museum of Art and Hampton Roads Pride as they partner for a creative, unique and engaging event for everyone to enjoy on Thursday of Pride Week! This event is free and open to all.

Feral Showgirls Present: Rainbow Room Speakeasy – Pride Edition, Gershwin’s, Norfolk, 6-11 p.m.

Join the Feral Showgirls as we kick off Hampton Road’s Pride! Be transported back to the golden age of the speakeasy with our cast of sultry, sexy, and stunning performers in the opulent surroundings of Gershwin’s! 

JUNE 21 

LGBT Film Festival, Slover Library, Norfolk, 2 p.m.

Celebrate Pride month at our annual film festival. Snacks provided. Featuring Love, Simon and The Danish Girl

Eighth Annual Pride Block Party, Scope Arena, Norfolk 7 p.m.

This year’s theme for the Pride Block Party is “Strike a Pose.” Dancing, drag, live art and magical performers. DJ RAYS. Tickets $13 ticket before June 17, $16 after at www.ticketmaster.com.

JUNE 22

Hampton Roads PrideFest 2019, Town Point Park, Norfolk, 12 – 8 p.m.

Celebrate 31 years of Pride in Hampton Roads . This years theme is “Live Your Best Pride.” Featuring Music Headliners JoJo and Crystal Waters, the nation’s only Pride Boat Parade, and 2019 Grand Marshal Angela Hucles, two-time Olympic gold medalist with USA Women’s Soccer. Free and open to all.

PrideFest 2019 After Party, Waterside District, Norfolk, 6 p.m.

Join Hampton Roads Pride as we celebrate LGBTQ and our allied communities to show our support of inclusion, diversity, and equality at PrideFest 2019‘s official After Party. Register in advance to receive drink discounts at www.eventbrite.com

3rd Annual Gay Pride After Party, Imperfect People Center, Virginia Beach, 10 p.m.

If you missed last year Get ready to Pull Up !! We making it a hot pride weekend with the biggest Pride Afterparty to hit 757!

Zen Rainbow Rave for Pride, 37th and Zen, Norfolk, 9 p.m.

To Celebrate PRIDE in the 757, Zen is throwing one of its famous outdoor foam parties with some of the best EDM DJs in the 757 into one event. FREE for 21 and up, 18-21, $5.

First Annual Pride at the Beach, Neptune’s Park, Virginia Beach, 2-7 p.m.

A luxury, VIP, lounge experience with white linens and fabrics, couches, lounge beds, and exciting DJ Music at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. Free and open to all.

JUNE 28

FlickIt! Fridays: Paris Is Burning presented by the LGBT Life Center, Naro Cinema, Norfolk, 9:15 p.m.

Where does voguing come from, and what, exactly, is throwing shade? This landmark documentary provides a vibrant snapshot of the 1980s through the eyes of New York City’s African American and Latinx Harlem drag ball scene. Tickets $10.50.

JUNE 29

Stonewall Riot 50th Anniversary Day of Remembrance, MJ’s Tavern, Norfolk, 11 a.m.

Join us for a huge day of festivities, including history, music performances and information from local organizations. Free and open to the public. 

Carytown Pride Parade & Rally in the Alley, AlterNatives Boutique, Richmond, 1 p.m.

Carytown’s Pride Month comes to close with a rally featuring vendor tables, guest speakers, music, face painting, bubbles, and more. Family and pet friendly event, free.

JUNE 30

3rd Annual Alternative Pride Picnic, First Landing State Park, Virginia Beach, 12-5 p.m.

Join us for a relaxed day in the park. We’ll have food, music, and games!!! We’ll also be having a treasure hunt. We welcome all friendly and respectful “Alternative” communities from Hampton Roads including LGBTQ, Poly, Pagan, New Age, Fet, and others.
