HRBOR, ACCESS AIDS Care/LGBT Center of Hampton Roads and PFLAG are inviting Hampton Roads citizens to attend Equality Virginia’s annual Day of Action on Tuesday February 7th. The groups will sponsor bus transpiration to and from Richmond on that day with an optional lunch.
During the day of action, citizens will travel to Richmond to directly engage Virginia’s lawmakers to support of the continued fight for equal rights of all citizens. Attendees can expect a full day of meetings with lawmakers and network with like-minded persons from across the state.
The Day of Action is designed to empower LGBTQ and allied Virginians to create positive change, meet legislators and discuss bills important to the LGBT community, and attend workshops hosted by some of the area’s top attorneys and fellow activists. The day ends with a Legislative Reception, where we are joined by a number of legislators for LGBT equality and others who have made our issues their priority.
DAY OF ACTION 2017 SCHEDULE
8:30 am to 9:15 am: Registration & Welcome at Day of Action Headquarters
Library of Virginia, 800 E Broad Street, Richmond
9:30 am: Lobby Your Legislators
Captains lead your group to the General Assembly Building
12:15 pm: Lunch Break
Library of Virginia, Room TBD, open to everyone
1:00 pm to 5:00 pm: Workshop Sessions
Learn how you can be part of the change and move equality forward in Virginia
5:30 pm to 7:30 pm: Equality Virginia Legislative Reception
Enjoy Refreshments and rub elbows with legislators in the General Assembly

Bus transportation will be provided to and from Richmond with pickups on both the Southside and the Peninsula.
