Second Area Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV) Commemoration Announced

Hampton Roads will have two separate events, spaced a week apart, to commemorate the Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV).  Hampton Roads Pride Transgender Advocacy Committee recently announced a TDOV event titled “Don’t Judge a Book by Its Cover.” that will take place this Saturday, March 31 at 2 p.m. at the Chrysler Museum in Norfolk.

The event will feature a ‘living library’ with persons representing various identities including Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT), non-binary, genderqueer, gender non-conforming, and allied community members.  Participants will share their stories by acting as living books.

Attendees are encouraged to “checkout” as many of our living books as desired throughout the event. In addition, attendees will be encouraged to leave their mark at the event by participating in a “Write Your Own Story” project.  TDOV is a celebration of the lives, victories and accomplishments of the transgender community, all are welcome.
